Played an integral part in the conquest of Mexico as Cortes’ interpreter; fluent in Nahuatl, Mayan and Spanish. Did her diplomacy prevent the conquest from being even more bloody than it already was ? Was she a brilliant negotiator ? Or a traitor?

This piece is made up of a combination of natural and dyed veneers set in a radial background of Quartered Sycamore.
